About The Artwork

Yusra Al Barbari was one of the first women to oppose the Balfour Declaration. She played a prominent role in establishing the Women's Union of Gaza in 1964 and was elected its president. She also led the Gaza women's delegation to the conference that founded the General Union of Palestinian Women, held in Jerusalem in 1965.
