In a dream state, we are immersed in an unknown universe. Every night, we unwittingly travel to various worlds where everything seems unreal yet familiar, as seen through the eyes of our minds, prompted by the mysterious domain of the subconscious. When we're in the middle of a dream, we don't see something unusual about it, but when we wake up, our nighttime visions become strange. Are they strange? Why do we believe that being awake is more sensible? What is it about being awake that makes us believe it is more real than a dream? The ‘Shades of Pale' series was inspired by these questions. The paintings in this series seek to visually narrate various dream states, with peculiar characters and stories interwoven in pastel shades. The series aims to explain personal night vision encounters, with the goal of engaging the viewer with a familiar and relatable optical dialogue.
