The pleasure in working with collage is the sublime timelessness each piece presents. The unexpected and surrealistic feel it endows the viewer can resemble a dream. Where no time era or space is visible. Fusing different epochs in history, icons, sceneries, nature, architecture, patterns, cultures and peoples, space, objects, animals into a single story line. Some pieces have a theme that aims to transmit a specific message, others may simply be interpreted by the viewer’s own understanding of the collage, giving the liberty to the mind to unleash the endless meaning possibilities. However, ultimately Zaina’s collages aim to focus on beauty and blend our colourful world into a single portrait.
