Artist Statement

Contemporary and Qajari elements are woven together in my paintings, which in itself is evident of the disorganized and chaotic nature of the contemporary era.The combination of cultures, the presence of Qajari physiques together with obscure elements such as dolls and sunglasses… come to life and establish a universe conflicting with the traditional world and fuse it to the contemporary era. These integrations lend a concurrence and perhaps timelessness to my paintings, such is the contemporary era: we love modernity while being attached to tradition. What then, is it to be done?
