Artist Statement

My Today is all based on the experiences and nostalgia from my past. The illustrations that are evolved and you are looking at as the audience, is a part of my historical lens. Some of these memories have faded through time and some are still relevant that make a bold statement in my art. I am from a generation of Iran that has lived in between tradition and modernism and after the revolution and wars here I am still standing with many contradictions that I have tried to translate them in my drawings. My art portrays a feeling that is internal in all of us who were raised in this country with a history to rely on and much poetry to embrace. We live in a world that history keeps repeating itself and there is no beginning nor and end, it is a life full of everyday events that repeat themselves over time and I have nothing else but these etchings to remember each day as I go along.
