Artist Statement

My works represent my spontaneous feelings towards the world around me. It manifests a paradoxical view of reality and fantasies. I try to hide complex human problems of the noisy world of technology in a corner, and create my own world of fantasies. The voices of the stories of fairy kings and myths that have become our nostalgic memories, regardless of any geographical, political, and religious borders, are my main subjects. I find my own language to restate the stories based on my native background.

Series Statement

In the Snow White tale, the beautiful princess appears in a hijab and the Prince is replaced with a Mullah. Laced with conspicuous irony, I mock at the rationality and seriousness of our contemporary society. Moreover, it manifests the social frustration and contradictions inherent in my culture. Covering space with bright and sharp colors, I try to give a sense of excitement and happiness to the viewer regardless of their paradoxical concept. I hope my colourful mental world can overshadow the depressive world of our modern society.
