Artist’s Story

Amirali Izadi grew up in an artistic family in Tehran / Calligraphy runs in his blood as Dabirkhaghan his great grand father was a renowned Persian calligrapher of the past century / Since childhood, he was trained under the supervision of Master Yadollah Kaboli, the pioneer of Shekaste Calligraphy / As a mountaineer and pro skier he has always been inspired by the diversity of colours in nature / In his latest works, Izadi carves the words of Persian poets such as Hafez & Rumi through the layers of media on canvas, leaving an unclear effect, which he believes has more influence when left to be discovered / Izadi's past exhibition include a solo show in Tehran's Henna gallery in collaboration with the UN in Iran for the UN's 70th anniversary, and Raad Auction in Tehran /
